Service User Involvement (GHNWA)

Gambling Harms North West Alliance (GHNWA)

Gambling Harms North West Alliance was formed in early 2019 when a lived experience group of ‘recovering gamblers’ and ‘affected others’ joined together with Beacon Counselling Trust and Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust to form an alliance to address gambling related harms.

GHNWA Aims and Objectives are two-fold – to be PROACTIVE to promote safer gambling safer and REACTIVE to help and support those who are suffering any form of gambling harms.

There are currently 21 members who meet regularly and who are involved in many on-going gambling related harm projects including:

  • Education and Awareness
  • Treatment and Support
  • Children and Young People
  • Affected Others
  • A point of contact within the community
We are established locally, nationally, and internationally
We have identified and produced Clear Care Pathways and Community links through our Community Connectors mode
We are keen to increase our membership and involve more people who are interested in being part of our forum
