Neil Platt and Andy Gallie were honoured to attend the House of Lords reception recently to represent Beacon Counselling Trust and the wider Armed Forces Gambling Support Network as a finalist in the Soldiering On Awards (SOA).

It was inspiring to be amongst such amazing individuals and organisations. Being a finalist just goes to show the work that we have done this year to have an impact on those who serve and the wider veteran communities.

The evening also delivered the opportunity to speak with influential people from Earl Howe, high ranking Military Officers, to celebrities and commercial sectors who could all see the benefit in the work that we do.

This is just the start of a much longer, and prosperous project that will see us help improve retention rates within the Armed Forces, as well as supporting those who have left to have a much more fulfilling future by supporting them to not only overcome gambling harms, but to help improve their overall mental health.

A massive thank you to Ren Kapur MBEand her amazing team at Soldiering on Awards for organising and welcoming us in to such a purposeful and inspiring ‘Family’.
