Fundraising and Donations

Fundraising...

…Is a BIG part of what we do here at Paul’s Place. It is very much encouraged and in reality it is essential, in order for us being able to continue to provide the FREE specialist counselling service to both our present and future clients.

Do you or a family member, maybe a friend or work colleague enjoy running, walking, cycling, football, golf, rugby, swimming, or in fact any sport whatsoever? Why not ask if they would be willing to organise a fundraiser for us? Maybe you choose to forego birthday gifts in lieu of a donation to us instead.

This short animation provides information on how you can help “Paul’s Place” by fundraising for us.

Our charity receives no Government or NHS funding and therefore, we are dependent upon donations, fundraising efforts and charitable grants. If you would like to hear more about our Paul’s Place fundraising events, please complete the sign-up form below and Agnes, our Paul’s Place Co-Ordinator, will be in touch with updates and information regarding any future events.

    We have a JustGiving page

You will see there are a number of options on there. You can set up a standing order to donate on a regular basis, or just as a one off; as well as posting an event.

If you should need any help regarding fundraising, please get in touch with Agnes and she will be happy to help. It really is a big help to us if (wherever possible) your event can be featured on there, since we receive the donations without any fuss.

We can provide you with sponsorship forms, personalised to your fundraising event. You just need to give us enough notice of what you are doing, along with when and where you are doing it. We also have a small stock of T-Shirts, collection buckets, desktop charity boxes and donation envelopes available.

Please remember to take photos of your event and share them with us, as well as family and friends. We would love it if you were able to call in and see us for a “Big Cheque” presentation photo afterwards, too.

Some of our service users have chosen to mark a loved one’s birthday or anniversary by holding a memorial event in honour of them. These events have ranged from arranging a Group Walk to holding a fully blown Party Night. We have also had people taking part in a whole range of activities to fundraise for us. Some of these have included:

Does your workplace support a charity?

Even if it does already, there is no harm in asking if they would be willing to have us as their chosen charity (even just as a one off event). Maybe they are able to price match a fundraising event. Very often smaller charities such as ours get overlooked, in favour of big national and international charities; who very often receive substantial funding already. Also it is often the case that they have CEO’s and other highly paid staff members on board too; whereas every penny we receive is spent on providing free counselling to our clients.

    Do you shop online?

Did you know that you can raise funds for us at absolutely no cost to yourself? There are no catches, no hidden charges and we would be really grateful if you were to join www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/paulsplacebct (or you may prefer to download the easyfundraising app). It is really simple to use and it’s surprising how all those little amounts can soon add up. Collectively, 21 people have raised over £330 for us so far.  There are over 4,000 retailers available on the site, so there is a good chance that you will already be shopping with some of them, unaware that you could be helping us out at the same time. Please feel free to share the link far and wide, amongst family, friends and work colleagues.
