BCT’s Staff Wellbeing and Appreciation Group (SWAG) was created to demonstrate BCT’s commitment to valuing and supporting staff. The group meets on a monthly basis to discuss staff satisfaction, areas for improvement, and to organise quarterly staff wellbeing events. The group is made up of a representative from each major team within BCT: the Treatment Team, Admin Team, Education and Early Intervention Team, and Therapist Team. All BCT staff members have the opportunity to raise any concerns around their wellbeing or areas for improvement to their SWAG representative, where it is anonymously fed back to the SWAG group, and then when appropriate, passed to senior management for exploration and resolution.
The Staff Wellbeing and Appreciation Group have so far hosted events including a wellbeing walk and meal at Liverpool’s Sefton Park, a crazy golf afternoon, and a ghost tour. The feedback from the Staff Wellbeing and Appreciation Group has been overwhelmingly positive, with staff commenting on the benefit of feeling supported and rewarded.
The Staff Wellbeing and Appreciation Group also send out a yearly Staff Satisfaction Survey, where employees have the opportunity to anonymously submit feedback which is then discussed, and changes are explored. As a result of the 2024 Staff Satisfaction Survey, monthly all-staff meetings have been implemented. This is an example of BCT’s commitment to listening to staff feedback and implementing changes at the earliest convenience, to promote a culture of openness, innovation, and appreciation.
