Putting one foot in front of the other for Paul’s Place BCT
Liverpool Half Marathon & 10-Miler Sunday 26th March 2023 9:00am
This March, we’re asking our supporters to take part in the Liverpool Half Marathon or 10-Miler road race for Paul’s Place BCT in support of our mission to help improve the lives of people bereaved by suicide across Merseyside.
Starting at the Pier Head in the shadow of the famous Liver Building, the Half Marathon course takes in many of Liverpool’s famous landmarks through the city centre. Runners will go onto meander up to the most scenic parkland in the city, Sefton Park, before heading back along the waterfront promenade overlooking the River Mersey. Choruses of ‘Ferry Cross the Mersey’ ring in the air as they tick off the miles heading back to the city centre for one of the grandest finishes you will ever encounter.
There is also a 10-Mile race held in conjunction with the Half Marathon, which sets off at the same time and finishes in the same location. The 10-Mile option cuts out Sefton Park with both Half Marathon and 10-Mile runners merging on Aigburth Drive at the seven and four mile point respectively as the course heads toward the waterfront and finish.
Our team is filling up with runners of all abilities from across Merseyside, with representation from Liverpool, The Wirral and as far as Preston. We also have a virtual cyclist joining our team who will be completing Marathon distance on their stationary bike. There really are no limits on how our team can take part in support of Paul’s Place BCT.
As Paul’s Place BCT receives no Government or NHS funding, we are reliant on donations, fundraising and any grants that we are able to secure along the way. Rest assured that every penny received is used to provide much needed specialist help and support to those bereaved by suicide, across the whole Merseyside area.
On behalf of our community, thank you to our fantastic fundraisers for helping us deliver our vital Paul’s Place BCT programme.
