We would like to welcome Andrew to the role of Paul’s Place Community
Engagement and Support Lead.
Andrew started in this role in early March and he has spent the last few
weeks finding his feet.
“I have worked for Beacon in a number of roles over
the last few years and I am really enthused and excited about the opportunity
to explore ways to offer further support to our Paul’s Place Suicide
Bereavement Service Users.
For the first few weeks I have been looking at ways
of replicating or adapting the many positive aspects of our service offer
on other programmes and researching potential income and fundraising streams to
support Paul’s Place in future.
I have also been visiting some of the aftercare
groups offered to our Paul’s Place service users to gain a greater
understanding of how the support offered can be of benefit as part of a
holistic approach to care that complements our well established and excellent
counselling service.
Having already witnessed the Peer Support Group and
the Journeys of Discovery Group, I am now looking forward to finding out more
about our Wellbeing and Craft Groups and Trek Therapy Walks. One thing that is
very apparent already is just how much care and warmth there is within these
groups. I am a big believer in the importance of connection and the social,
environmental and community connection I have witnessed already in group
sessions is clearly beneficial in supporting group members.”
We have some big fundraising events coming up over the next few months
with the Paul’s Place Skydive on 12/05/2024, followed by the Wirral Coastal
Walk on Sunday 16/06/2024 – registration is now open for the walk and it would
be lovely to see as many colleagues, service users and friends of Paul’s Place
involved in the walk as possible – please look at our social media and website
in the next few weeks for further details.
If you do register to fundraise for Paul’s Place, then please contact me
before the walk to let me know.
If you would like to make a donation to support
Paul’s Place or have fundraising ideas that you would like to discuss then
please call Beacon Counselling Trust on 0151 226 0696 or paulsplace@beaconcounsellingtrust.co.uk
