The Renew and Revive Conference hosted by Preston Muslim Forum, who are a valued partner of Beacon’s improving outcomes programme, was a great success with over 50 people in attendance. BCT was proud to support and contribute towards this event, with the aim of raising awareness and promote appropriate and informed access to support for both individuals and their families, to reduce the effects of gambling related harm within this community.
A lady who attended the conference, also attended our Level 2 ‘Bet You Can Help’ training programme and shared her story. She mentioned that the level 2 training, helped her to understand her husband’s addiction and why he may have made the choices he did.
Feedback from the community has been really positive and it has hopefully opened more door for conversation. The event is going to be published in Asian leader soon and the team at Preston Muslim Forum hope to do a radio interview going forward.
We look forward to continuing our supporting relationship with Preston Muslim Forum and activity within the Muslim community.
