This Christmas, I am supporting Paul’s Place
For many people, it is becoming increasingly popular to make a charitable donation at Christmas time. With that in mind, I just wanted you to know that I won’t be sending Christmas Cards this year. Instead, I have chosen to donate to a Liverpool based project Paul’s Place” – run by Beacon Counselling Trust – a charity which is very close to my heart. They provide free specialist counselling to people bereaved by suicide. They receive no Government or NHS funding and are reliant upon donations, fundraising efforts and charitable grants. The service they provide is both vital and unique; the only one of its kind, across the whole Merseyside area.
BCT has been established for 12 years now; and they provide a whole range of counselling services. Their “Paul’s Place” project was launched just over 4 years ago and so far, has provided much needed help and support to more than 450 people.
Maybe this year, like me you would rather see your money being used to fund a very necessary and worthwhile cause; instead of lining the pockets of greetings card manufacturers and mail delivery companies.
WISHING YOU A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY, HEALTHY NEW YEAR
