Wider Determinants of Gambling Related Harms
The team at Beacon Counselling Trust have built this Wider Determinants of Gambling Related Harms based on knowledge from our team’s personal experiences working with individuals that have been at-risk of, or experienced gambling-related harm, and their affected family, friends and partners.
We have worked with individuals that have experienced gambling harms for many years and have supported thousands of individuals that have been impacted by the issues gambling can cause. Alongside personal and anecdotal evidence, the model was built and supported by a wealth of current literature and research into addiction, gambling, and the range of different risk factors.
The booklet (which can be accessed below) provides an overview of our treatment and support offer, early intervention and education programmes, and the wider determinants of gambling harms, which include:
