On Saturday 17th September, Craig Williams (Cousin of Paul Williams) and 11 family members, (ranging from 3 to 70 years old), plus 2 doggies Jasper & Charlie; completed a 12-mile canal sidewalk to raise funds for Paul’s Place in Paul’s memory.
The weather was perfect and the company was great. During the walk we stopped off at various pubs enroute (well it would be rude not to!) for liquid refreshments and finished off with a lovely and well-deserved meal.
Along the route we had people stopping us to pop a donation in the collection bucket, which was so lovely, including one man who went inside his narrow boat and emptied his collection of loose change into our bucket! The owner at Scarisbrick Marina Tearoom also made a donation, as did the staff at the Ship Inn, Lathom. Thanks to each and every one of you. We really appreciate your support.
The event raised £500 for Paul’s Place and with Gift Aid, the total amount was £617.50!
Well done to all the walkers and sponsors involved in the event. We are considering making this an annual event, so watch this space…!
