On Friday 7 November 2025 the Devonshire House Hotel hosted a wonderful fundraising evening for our Paul’s Place Suicide Bereavement Service.

The night was a great success, establishing a single event fundraising record — but just as importantly there is a strong and positive legacy from the night that continues to be seen, both in greater awareness and further donations, with over £25,000 raised.

Guests were treated to brilliant entertainment, a three-course meal and an incredible auction and raffle, with prizes including memorabilia signed and donated by famous stars from the world of sport and entertainment.

A host of celebrities and well-known local faces attended the event, with Lord Mayor Barbara Murray a guest of honour.

We would like to thank Tony Murray, Trevor Long, Darren Melia, Paul’s Place co-founders Agnes and Joe Williams, The Devonshire House Hotel and staff, and a host of wonderful volunteers on the night for helping to put on such a wonderful event.

Further thanks to all of the acts who performed so brilliantly on the night and the local businesses, sports clubs, organisations and individuals who sponsored the event, bought tickets and gave so generously to support our cause.

The impact of this event has led to Paul’s Place putting together a programme of fundraising events for 2026, with more details to follow soon. We are delighted to confirm that as part of the 2026 programme we will be repeating the fundraising gala on Friday 6 November 2026 — please call 0151 226 0696 and ask to speak to Paul’s Place Community and Engagement Support Lead, or check Beacon Counselling Trust’s social media channels for more updates in the coming months.

The evening was also covered by the Liverpool Echo: “Tears and laughter as families gather in memory of loved ones”.
