As part of our focus to raise awareness of gambling related harms on Wirral we have continued working with Wirral Borough Council to deliver our Young People’s Gambling Harm Prevention Programme both remotely and in person.

We were recently invited to the Big Learn event held at the Floral Pavillion in New Brighton were our team attended both days and presented an overview of the work Beacon Counselling Trust do with a focus on young people.

We manned a stall and engaged with a significant number of professionals in attendance, talking about their understanding of gambling harms and encouraging them to consider this important issue in their day to day work.

We also networked and built relationships with several of the other organisations in attendance including Merseyside Violence Reduction Partnership, Involve Northwest, the probation services amongst others. This was a really successful event which will help support Wirral residents and frontline services with this issue moving forward.
